At the EANM 2025 Congress, the company reveals the first clinical results of the IMAS project, which promises faster, more accurate and safer diagnoses thanks to state-of-the-art technology
On Monday 6 October 2025, at the Annual Congress of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM 2025) in Barcelona, the Spanish company Full Body Insight, specialised in scintillator technology for full-body PET systems, will play a key role in the presentation of the ambitious IMAS (High Sensitivity Molecular Imaging) Project.
IMAS is a pioneering development in positron emission tomography (PET), designed to provide higher quality images with greater sensitivity and resolution, covering the patient’s entire body in a single acquisition. The objective is clear: to improve the detection of small lesions, reduce scanning time, reduce radiation dose and allow simultaneous dynamic studies of several organs.
Technological and clinical advantages
Among the advances presented, the following stand out:
- Increased sensitivity and spatial resolution, key to detecting metastases and early lesions.
- Faster and safer scans, substantially reducing patient dose.
- Simultaneous imaging of multiple organs, opening the door to complex dynamic physiological dynamic studies.
- Optimised paediatric use, thanks to the ability to scan without the need for prolonged sedation.
According to the researchers, the system will also allow the extraction of advanced imaging biomarkers (texture, heterogeneity, pharmacokinetics), which are essential for personalising cancer treatments and immunotherapy.
Health sector and market impact
Full Body Insight’s involvement in this innovative project highlights the growing collaboration between technology and medicine, an example of how knowledge transfer from research to the clinic can be transformed into solutions with real impact. The company not only provides hardware, but also integrates image reconstruction software, AI for automatic analysis and quantitative biomarkers.
The congress will serve as a showcase to validate the prototype in front of an international audience, attracting the interest of hospitals and research centres.
Future Outlook
The presentation of IMAS at EANM 2025 reflects a decisive phase in its development: from idea to technical demonstration, and soon to clinical trial. Full Body Insight, in collaboration with UTE Phoenix and scientific entities, is committed to transforming diagnostic imaging and strengthening the Spanish technological fabric in healthcare. The initiative promises a quantum leap in oncology, paediatrics and inflammatory diseases, consolidating Full Body Insight as a key player in the next generation of whole-body PET scanners.
